School Experience

Date: 23rd June 2008
Time: 0930 - 1600
Venue: Zhenghua Primary School

So, here I am, the 1st day of my School Experience, together with other 9 NIE Trainie Teachers, reporting at different timing. Apart from me, other 5 of them report at 0930 as well.

So when we reached, we attended the briefing at the Conference Room, and filled up forms etc and received our time tables respectively. I'm not really happy with the weird, float timing i get, though my sister think it's quite good as I do not need to report early to school. Hmm..., what do I mean by "weird, float timing"?

- Report at 0925, and can go off at 1555. Not totally belong to the AM session, nor in the PM session. - All MTL teachers are at floating timing. Sigh... What to do? I don't have a choice but to accept it. - The days hence become shorter to me, where Bihui and Mavis can go off early at 1pm, and the remaining of the day can do whatever they want...Ggggggggrrr....

After a 2nd short tour around the school, we were then dismissed, and was told to do and go anything we like. We were not given a seat in the staff rooms though there are 2 staff rooms in the school, as they are all fully occupied. We were given a table at the Staff Louge, where the teachers use it to release stress by having a cup of coffee, reading newspapers at the comfortable sofa, etc.

Hm.....ok la, considered not to bad. The bad ones are yet to come. I only have one Cooperative Teacher. She's a very nice, experienced teacher. Hence, the classes that she take are rather poor in academic results and mischievous ones. Plus, the class that she's handling is an International class, meaning some of the students are from different countries! I've observed 1 of her classes today, and I really think it is really a challenging for me to maintain good class management. On the 3rd week of my practicum, it is my turn to teach and handle them!!!!!!!! Oh my!!

Oh ya, I am taking P2 and P4 students.

Nightmare: I have to write my reflection journals and reports in which the classes that I've attended and observed. By the end of the week!!

Busy life begins here again.

Off I go.
