Went for my orthodonctics progressive adjustment after McDonalds' breakfast.


Dr Henry Ho: Hello, Shan. (since when he's so cordially to call me Shan?)


Me: Hello.


Dr Henry Ho: Take a seat and rinsk your mouth. Think of the colour you want to put on this month.


Me: (Again....) What's your second favourite colour?


Dr Henry Ho: Oh...erm, light purple? it's a sweet colour. Or erm, light, pale yellow... looks nice on braces too. You decide,dear. (smiling...how come he's so nice again??!)


Me: Light purple then.


Dr Henry Ho: Ok, when is your next term break?


Me: This month, after 18th.


Dr Henry Ho: Oh, that's too soon. I am asking you this because I have to schedule you for the surgery. ( I know la..., otherwise you would ask me out for a date meh??)


Me: Oh, erm...Probably November.. yup.


Dr Henry Ho: November, I see. Ok, your lower teeth are ready. For the upper one, just need to close up the gap here, ...on your right.


Me: (nodded my head) I have to extract my wisdom tooth during the surgery?


Dr Henry Ho: Yup, we'll do it for you during the surgery.


Me: Both side of my wisdom teeth need to extract???!


Dr Henry Ho: Yup.


Me: Oh no. I don't wish to lost any of my teeth anymore.


Dr Henry Ho: Well, I understand. But as we cut your jaw, your lower wisdom teeth are excess teeth, which are not functional. So it's better to get rid of it.


Me: So Dr Winston Tan will do the extraction for me?


Dr Henry Ho: Yes, dear. Hm... ok, so I will get your teeth ready to go for the surgery in November. Everything will be alright by November. (I can sense he's smiling behind his mask)


Me: Scary.....


Dr Henry Ho: Haaha....., Don't be scared, every thing will be fine, my dear.(again...)


Me: Hm...


Dr Henry Ho: Before you go for your surgery, you need to see Dr Winston Tan again somewhere in Sept or October, to do some blood test and x-ray.


Me: I hate needles.


Dr Henry Ho: (nodded) haha....you hate needles. Haha...Everybody hate needles, including me. The one poking the needles and the other being poke are 2 different experiences.


Me: (nodded with appreciation) Yes...


Aft a few minutes....


Dr Henry Ho: Ok, done. If you're wondering why i tided the rubber alternatively, it is bec i want the gap to close up faster. So that you can go for surgery in Nov. I am telling you this bec you're an adult. If it's a kid, I won't bother to explain. Hhahahaha....


Me: Hhaha....(rinsk my mouth again)


Dr Henry Ho: So I see you in another 4 weeks again. I will write to Dr Winston Tan that you will do your surgery in November. Bye.


Thinking of the surgery I will be going through in November, I feel so tensed up. Time flies, it's been nearly a year since I put my braces, and now I have to get ready for the surgery. The word surgery is just scary enough...


If you're wondering what surgery that I have to go through...


It's called Maxillofacial Surgery. To shorten my lower jaw bone, and this will make me looks different from my present appearance, and with my 2 wisdom teeth removed. Sounds like cosmetic surgery? - Hhaha...not really la. Depends on how you look at it. Orthodontics itself doesn't belong to cosmetic surgery...and mine is orthopedic cum maxillofacial surgery...... Haiz...whatever.
